T-Shirt Painting Competition on HIV/AIDS Awareness
The Red Ribbon Club and the Counselling Cell of St. Joseph Vaz College organized a T-Shirt Painting Competition on 7th February 2025 on the theme “Together for an AIDS-Free Future.” The event aimed to raise awareness about HIV/AIDS through creative expression, encouraging students to use art as a medium for advocacy. A total of 22 students participated in teams of two, forming
11 teams that beautifully translated the theme into their T-shirt designs. The competition commenced at 12:00 p.m., with participants given one and a half hour to complete their artwork.
The judging panel included Dr. Aureen Gomes, Assistant Professor in Microbiology, and Ms. Komal Gawade, Assistant Professor in Chemistry. The participants were evaluated based on creativity, originality, relevance to the theme, neatness in finishing, use of colors, and overall presentation. After careful assessment, the winners were announced: Ms. Vishakha Bandivadekar and Anish
Maurya secured first place, followed by Kshithij Naik and Ms. Fey Da Silva in second place. The third place resulted in a tie between Khushnuma Baig & Damini Rajput and Varad Parob & Kanak Shirodkar.
Ms. Aroma Diniz, Convenor of the Red Ribbon Club, extended her heartfelt gratitude to all the participants for their enthusiasm and creativity. The competition was a great success, effectively combining artistic talent with an important social message, reinforcing the collective commitment to an AIDS-free future.
