On the occasion of World Photography Day, the Counselling Cell in collaboration with the Red Ribbon Club of St. Joseph Vaz College organized a Photography Competition on 19th August 2025. The theme for the year was “My Favourite Photo.”

The competition was open to all students of the college with the objective of encouraging creativity, artistic expression, and a deeper appreciation of photography as a medium of storytelling. Participants were required to submit a photograph they had personally clicked, along with a few lines explaining why it was their favourite. The submissions were collected through Google Forms, ensuring smooth and accessible participation.

The competition saw an enthusiastic response, with a total of twenty-one students submitting their entries. Each student displayed unique perspectives, capturing moments and images that reflected personal emotions, memories, and artistic imagination. After careful evaluation, the winners were declared. The first place was secured by Ms. Skyla Rodrigues from F.Y. B. Sc, second place went to Ms. Vianney Colaco from T.Y. B. Sc, and the third place was awarded to Ms. Niola Sequeira from S.Y. B.Sc. The winners were felicitated with certificates and medals as a token of recognition for their talent and effort.

The Photography Competition was a successful initiative that not only celebrated World Photography Day but also provided a platform for students to share their artistic vision. It inspired participants and viewers alike to see photography as a meaningful way of expressing ideas and cherishing memorable moments.
