‘MICROTalks’

Department of Microbiology in collaboration with Microbiologists Society India (MBSI) organized ‘MICROTalks’ created in the spirit of uncovering new ideas and sharing the latest research in microbiology so that it may spark curiosity and interest among students towards the subject of microbiology. This event was held on 26th July, 2025 at 2:15pm in the microbiology lab 2.

The first talk was delivered by Ms. Sanjana, student of TY BSc Microbiology. Her talk was titled ‘Viruses: Nature’s Tiny Troublemaker’ where she highlighted various aspects of viruses being harmful by causing diseases. The second talk was delivered by Ms. Astrid, student of SY BSc Microbiology. Her talk was titled “The Dark Virome: Exploring viruses we never knew existed” where she highlighted on the dark virome which we didn’t know existed in our body and in the environment. She also spoke about the good virome which is present in our body (body fluids) which protects us.

All the SY and TY microbiology students attended the presentations. Their talk was followed by a Q/A session among the faculties, speaker and the students.
