The Department of Mathematics in collaboration with the AISHE Cell of St Joseph Vaz College, Cortalim organized a Statistics quiz competition, Stat-O-Mania, on Saturday, 4th October 2025 at 2:00 p.m. in the College Seminar Hall. 

With the tagline “Play with Data, Win with Logic,” the event aimed to:
1. Enhance statistical knowledge – strengthening students’ understanding of fundamental statistical concepts, methods, and applications.
2. Promote analytical thinking – encouraging logical reasoning, problem-solving skills, and data interpretation abilities among students.

The quiz was divided into two rounds: Preliminary and Final. A total of six teams participated in the preliminary round, which was conducted through an engaging Kahoot quiz. Based on their performance, four teams qualified for the final round.

The final competition comprised a series of challenging and exciting rounds, including:
• General Statistics Knowledge (Concepts, History, Applications)
• Problem-Solving/Numerical Rounds
• Visual Round (Graphs, Charts, Datasets)
• Rapid-Fire/Buzzer Round

The rounds were designed to test both theoretical understanding and practical application of statistics in an interactive format.

After a closely contested battle of knowledge and quick thinking, the winners were declared as:
• Winners: Mr. Suaraj Yadav and Ms. Jade Pereira
• Runners-up: Ms. Kanak Shirodkar and Ms. Vaishnavi Bale

The winning teams were awarded for their achievement. Also, the winners of the Infographic Design Competition, organized earlier by the Department of Mathematics were awarded.
