Intramural 7 A Side Football

The Inter-Class 7-a-Side Football Tournament was held on August 18, 2026, at the St. Philip and James Church Ground, featuring a unique and inclusive format that required each team to have 5 boys and 2 girls on the field at all times. The tournament followed a league format, with three participating teams—F.Y.B.Sc, S.Y.B.Sc, and T.Y.B.Sc—playing each other once.
The opening match between F.Y.B.Sc and T.Y.B.Sc ended in a thrilling 2-2 draw, with both teams locked at 2-2 even at halftime, showcasing evenly matched sides that could not be separated despite their best efforts. The second match saw S.Y.B.Sc deliver a dominant performance against F.Y.B.Sc, securing a convincing 5-1 victory after leading 3-0 at halftime, demonstrating their attacking prowess and
defensive solidity. The final league encounter was a spectacular goal-fest between S.Y.B.Sc and T.Y.B.Sc, which ended in a 4-4 draw; S.Y.B.Sc had led 3-2 at halftime, but T.Y.B.Sc mounted a strong second-half comeback to level the scores and earn a hard-fought point. At the conclusion of the league, S.Y.B.Sc topped the standings with 4 points from one win and one draw, while T.Y.B.Sc finished as runners-up with 2 points from two draws, and F.Y.B.Sc secured third place with 1 point from one draw and one loss.
The tournament was a resounding success, exemplifying team spirit, fair play, and sportsmanship, and the department of physical education and sports extends its heartfelt gratitude to Rev. Prof. Simao Diniz (Administrator) and Ms. Viona Correia (Vice Principal) for their unwavering support, as well as to all the players and staff who contributed to making the event memorable. As the tournament motto rightly declared, “Come, support & play with passion! One team. One goal.”
