Bibliotherapy Service

On 20 th November 2024, the Department of Library at St. Joseph Vaz College, Cortalim, Goa, introduced a Bibliotherapy Service as part of its Book Readers Club initiative. This service aims to foster mental well-being and personal growth among students and staff during their vacation. Bibliotherapy uses literature as a therapeutic tool to enhance emotional health by offering books that focus on topics such as mindfulness, self-care, emotional resilience, and personal development. The college library’s website provides this service in the activities section, offering a curated selection of e-books that can be accessed for reading at any time.

The Bibliotherapy Service allows members of the college community to explore a range of carefully selected titles designed to provide comfort, insight, and growth. The collection can be accessed through a link or scanning the QR code, enabling students, faculty, and staff to read the materials at their leisure, with fresh titles added periodically. This initiative encourages individuals to take time for personal reflection, stress relief, and emotional support through reading.

The service is open to all students, faculty, and staff, offering a valuable resource for personal growth and emotional insight. It is designed to cater to those seeking stress relief, self-care, or simply a deeper understanding of emotional resilience. The library staff is available to assist users in navigating the platform and accessing the Bibliotherapy collection.

St. Joseph Vaz College is dedicated to promoting mental well-being through reading, emphasizing a well-rounded approach to education that nurtures not only academic success but also emotional and personal growth. The launch of this service invites everyone in the college community to read, heal, and grow together.
