Blind Date with a Book
The Department of Library of St. Joseph Vaz College successfully conducted the annual “Blind Date with a Book” event on 14 th February 2025 in the College Library. Now in its third year, this initiative continues to receive enthusiastic participation from both staff and students.
The concept of the event revolves around selecting a book at random, much like a surprise encounter, allowing participants to discover new genres and authors without prior judgment. Each participant was randomly given a book to read over the course of a month, encouraging curiosity and broadening literary horizons.
The primary objective of this activity is to cultivate a culture of reading among students and staff, fostering a deeper appreciation for literature. By stepping out of their comfort zones, participants have the opportunity to engage with diverse literary styles, themes, and perspectives. The Department of Library remains committed to promoting reading habits through innovative and engaging activities, ensuring that the joy of literature continues to thrive within the college community.
