A Bookmark Competition titled “Bookmark the Freedom Through the Lens” was organized by the Department of Library at St. Joseph Vaz College to commemorate three special occasions—National Librarians Day (12 th August), Independence Day (15 th August), and World Photography Day (19 th August 2025).

The objective of the competition was to inspire students with the spirit of independence and creativity. Participants were asked to design bookmarks based on the theme of Independence Day and further showcase their talent by capturing their creations through
photography, in celebration of World Photography Day.

The event received a total of ten entries, reflecting both artistic skill and patriotic enthusiasm. The winners of the competition were: First Place was awarded to Blessiya Lucas, Second Place to Tanisha Mangueshkar, and Third Place was jointly secured by Akanksha
Saroj and Andini Borkar.

This unique activity not only highlighted students’ creativity but also combined art, patriotism, and photography in a meaningful way.
