The inauguration of the IX edition of the college magazine “JOSEPHITE” was held on 30th September 2026 at 9:00 a.m. in the College Seminar Hall. The programme was compered by Mr. Xellion Gracias, College Counsellor and Member of the Magazine Committee.

The ceremony began with a warm welcome extended to Rev. Prof. Simao R. Diniz, Administrator; Ms. Viona Correia, Vice Principal; Ms. Manali Acharya, Editor of the College Magazine and College Librarian;Ms.Astrid Fernandes, General Secretary, faculty members; and students. In his introductory remarks, the compere highlighted the theme of this year’s magazine, “AI: The New Frontier in Every Field.” The theme reflects the growing influence of Artificial Intelligence across diverse areas of human life, education, science, healthcare, communication, creativity, business, and everyday activities. It also encourages students to understand AI as an emerging technology that can inspire innovation, enhance learning, and create new possibilities while emphasizing the importance of its responsible and ethical use.

The programme commenced with a short prayer, invoking the blessings of the Almighty. This was followed by the symbolic watering of a plant by the Administrator, Rev. Prof. Simao R. Diniz, representing the importance of nurturing nature, growth, and sustainability. The Administrator then addressed the gathering with words of inspiration and encouragement, appreciating the efforts of the Magazine Committee, contributors, faculty members, and students.

The magazine was subsequently inaugurated both traditionally and digitally by the Administrator, Vice Principal, College Librarian and General Secretary. The gathering applauded as the first printed copy of “JOSEPHITE” was unveiled, followed by the launch of its digital version on screen. The dual launch symbolised the harmonious blend of traditional publishing with modern digital technology and reflected the magazine’s central theme of embracing innovation.

The programme concluded with a Vote of Thanks delivered by Mr. Ludiloy Pereira, who expressed gratitude to the dignitaries, faculty members, students, contributors, Magazine Committee, and everyone involved in making the inauguration a successful and memorable event.

The inauguration of “JOSEPHITE” celebrated creativity, knowledge, innovation, and technological awareness, highlighting the transformative role of AI across various fields. The event encouraged students and faculty to explore emerging technologies and embrace responsible, creative, and future-ready learning.
