Inter-House Sports Competitions Foster Team Spirit and Healthy Lifestyle Among Students

The Department of Physical Education and Sports at St. Joseph Vaz College in Cortalim has successfully organized a series of inter-house competitions during the odd semester of the 2024 – 25 academic year, aimed at fostering friendly competition and promoting a healthy lifestyle among students. The four houses—Pythagoras, Chromosomes, Hydrophytes, and Electrons—competed in various events, including table tennis, carrom, 7-a-side football, endurance challenges, tennikoit, and chess. Points were awarded based on performance, with 100 for first place, 75 for second, 50 for third, and 25 for fourth. The results highlighted strong performances, particularly from Hydrophytes, which secured 425 points overall, followed closely by Pythagoras and Electrons at 400 points each, while Chromosomes finished with 300 points. As a testament to their achievements, the top teams will receive trophies and certificates during the upcoming Sports Day celebration.
