The Department of Microbiology organized a creative competition titled ‘Microbe Art competition’ for the students of F.Y., S.Y., and T.Y.B.Sc. on 1st March 2026 in Microbiology Lab 2. The aim of the competition was to encourage students to combine scientific knowledge with creativity by using microorganisms to create artistic designs on agar plates. Participants in the competition and showcased remarkable creativity and innovation through their microbial artwork. The students demonstrated enthusiasm and skill while applying microbiological techniques to create unique designs on agar plates.

The competition was judged by Prof. Sunita Borkar, retired Professor from the Department of Microbiology, PES’s RSN College of Arts
and Science, Ponda Goa who evaluated the entries based on creativity, scientific relevance, technique, and presentation. The first place was secured by Ms. Khushnuma Baig (T.Y.B.Sc.), the second place was won by Ms. Sanjana Sharma (TYBSc), and the third place was awarded to Ms. Analiese Fernandes (TYBSc).Two consolation prizes were awarded to Ms. Maithili Rudruke and Ms. Astrid Fernandes.
