Blind Date with a Book
The Library department at St. Joseph Vaz College, in collaboration with the NDLI Club, organized a unique and exciting activity called “Blind Date with a Book” on February 14, 2024. This activity aimed to foster reading habits and expose patrons of the library to diverse literary genres. Participants eagerly anticipated the event, eager to discover which book they would receive. Upon arrival, they chose a book blindly from a diverse selection, allowing them to experience something new without any preconceived notions. This approach aimed to spark curiosity and excitement among readers, encouraging them to explore genres they may not have considered before.
One of the highlights of the event was the heart-shaped PhotoBooth, where participants could take photos with their chosen books and reading props. This added a fun and memorable element to the experience, allowing participants to capture the moment and share it with others. The “Blind Date with a Book” event received enthusiastic participation from both staff and students alike. It provided valuable insights into the reading preferences of the college community, helping library staff better understand the literary interests of their patrons.
Overall, the event was a resounding success, fostering a love for reading and bringing the college community together in celebration of literature. It served as a reminder of the joy and excitement that comes from discovering new books and exploring different genres.
