The department of Physical Education and Sports of St Joseph Vaz College, Cortalim organised various Inter House Competitions throughout the week to celebrate National Sports Day. The students participated in all the competitions with a lot of fervour.

On day 1 Inter House Tennikoit was conducted in Sts Philip and James Hall. The winners of tennikoit were Team Pythagoras with brilliant performance from Dishant Kankonkar, Anezia Barreto, Muskan Kumari and Umesh Gani. Runners up were Team Electrons and the third place went to team Hydrophytes.

On day 2 Inter House Table Tennis was held in the college hall. Team Chromosomes secured a hard fought victory in the tournament with Amit Naik, Chhavi Singh, Juvency Simoes and Sanford Dias putting up a great show. Runners up position went to Team Pythagoras and third place was clinched by Team Hydrophytes.

On Day 3 was the most exciting tournament, which was Inter House Futsal which was held at L D’Silva Arena, Cortalim. The tournament had many close and tough encounters but it was once again Team Chromosomes that showed their superiority and clinched the title. The team was made up of Juvency  Simoes, Rutik Parab, Amit Naik, Sanford Dias, Suraj Rathod, and Vignesh Naik.

On Day 4 Inter House Carrom was organised in the college hall with all the teams putting up brilliant performances. Team Pythagoras and Team Hydrophytes shared the first place while Team Electrons and Team Chromosomes shared the third place.

Overall more than 40 students of the college participated in the events held throughout the week.
