Mental Health Day Celebration
The Counselling Cell in collaboration with the Red Ribbon Club of St. Joseph’s College observed World Mental Health Day on 10th October 2025. The event aimed to promote awareness about the importance of mental well-being and to encourage students to engage in creative and reflective activities that nurture a positive mindset.
To mark the occasion, a Bag Painting Competition was organized on the theme “Nurture Your Mind.” The activity provided students with a creative platform to express their thoughts and emotions related to mental health through art. A total of nine pairs (18 students) participated, each showcasing meaningful and imaginative designs that emphasized the importance of self-care, emotional balance, and mental well-being. The competition highlighted the connection between creativity and mental health, encouraging participants to reflect on the value of nurturing one’s mind in everyday life. The winners of the competition were Ms. Astrid Fernandes and Ms. Gretcher Fernandes, who secured the first place, followed by Ms. Seimoon Khazi and Ms. Aachal Naik in second place. The third place resulted in a tie between two pairs Ms. Tanisha Mangueshkar and Ms. Prajakta Prabhugaonker, and Ms. Vidhita Chari and Mr. Raghav Shirodkar.
Alongside this, an interactive activity titled the “Gratitude Tree” was conducted. Students were invited to take a paper leaf, write down something they were grateful for, and place it on the symbolic tree. As the leaves filled the branches, the tree became a visual reminder of appreciation, mindfulness, and positivity within the college community.
The Mental Health Day activities provided students with a space for creative expression and self-reflection, reinforcing the message that nurturing one’s mind is essential for overall well-being. The event was successful in fostering awareness, gratitude, and a supportive atmosphere among the participants.
