On 9th August 2023, the Department of chemistry of St. Joseph Vaz College in collaboration with Research and Development Cell (RDC), organised a talk on the topic research and scope in the pharmaceutical sectors, which was held in the college hall at 10:00 am. The   resource person for the talk was Dr. Andrew Joseph D’Souza, an assistant professor of chemistry at St. Xaviers College Mapusa. The students of F. Y, S.Y, and T.Y BSc were present .

The resource person was introduced by Dr. Melwin D’Souza. Dr. Andrew D’Souza started by highlighting the importance and significant role played by the pharmaceutical sector in improving public health by conducting research and delivering life-saving drugs to patients. Pharmaceutical research encompasses various areas, including formulation of drugs, manufacturing, quality assurance, marketing, regulatory affairs, clinical trials, patents and career opportunities in this field. This talk on Research and Scope in Pharmaceutical Sector proved to be highly informative and beneficial for all attendees. 

Dr. Andrew Joseph D’Souza effectively conveyed the importance of the pharmaceutical sector and provided actionable strategies  that can be applied both in professional and personal contexts. At the end of the seminar, Miss Komal Gawade proposed the vote of thanks and the College principal presented a potted plant as a token of appreciation to Dr.Andrew D’Souza.
