The Library Department of St. Joseph Vaz College organized a Photography Competition from 15^th August to 19^th August, 2023 to commemorate Independence Day and World Photography Day. The competition’s theme was “Experiencing Pride in My Tricolour”, encouraging students to capture patriotism through digital photography. It attracted enthusiastic participation from B. Sc. and D. El. Ed students, following clear guidelines.

 Three judges, namely Ms. Aroma Diniz, College Counselor, Mrs. Manali Acharya, College Librarian, and Mr. Mervin Rodrigues, System Administrator judged the submissions using criteria such as creativity, uniqueness, alignment with the theme, and technical skill. The top three participants who received certificates of recognition were Miss Pavithra Nair, who secured the first place, followed by Miss Muskaan Kumari in second place; and Mr. Ashish Gupta in third place. Additionally, all participants received participation certificates upon submitting their entries. 

The competition celebrated both creativity and patriotism, deepening students’ connection to their country’s history and the significance of these important days.
