On the occasion of the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, also known as World Drug Day, observed every year on 26th June, St. Joseph Vaz College took proactive measures to empower young people and communities in preventing drug use and addiction. In collaboration with the IQAC (Internal Quality Assurance Cell), the Department of Chemistry organized an awareness session in the college seminar hall on  28th June, 2023. The session was attended by B. Sc students, teaching staff, and delivered by Ms. Angela Serrao, Assistant Professor in Chemistry and IQAC Coordinator. During the event, a pledge was taken to strengthen global action and cooperation towards achieving a drug-free world. Following the session, a poster-making competition on the theme of “Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking” was held for college students from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the hall.
